9–10 September in Lviv, the international practical forum PIGS FARMING INDUSTRY 2026 brought together industry experts to discuss current challenges and practical solutions for modern pig farming. Enzym Feed Solutions partnered with the event, showcasing its feed solutions at the exhibition booth and participating in the professional program.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation by Iryna Matiukha, PhD, a researcher at the Enzym Group R&D center, titled: “The Evolution of Probiotic Yeasts in Animal Nutrition: From Traditional Solutions to Modern Technologies.”

Gut Health: The Foundation of Productivity
Modern pig production increasingly focuses not only on feed quantity and quality, but also on how animals digest and utilize nutrients. Stressors such as weaning, diet changes, and infections can disrupt the delicate balance of the intestinal microbiota. Maintaining gut health is therefore critical for stable animal performance, with specialized yeast feed additives serving as an effective tool.
From Probiotic Strains to Innovative Solutions
The presentation explored the evolution of yeast applications in animal nutrition, moving from traditional probiotic options to advanced products based on specific yeast strains and processing technologies:
- Saccharomyces cerevisiae — one of the most thoroughly researched yeast species widely used in animal husbandry.
- Kluyveromyces marxianus — an innovative yeast species characterized by high growth rates and metabolic flexibility.
The efficacy of any yeast product depends heavily on selecting the correct strain, production technology, and specific feeding conditions.

From Research to Farm Practice
Iryna Matiukha shared practical research results on Enzym Feed Solutions products:
- EnzActive demonstrated a positive impact on key production metrics, including daily weight gain, final live weight, and feed conversion ratios across various growth stages.
- KluActive confirmed its strong performance during early rearing and the post-weaning period.
These results highlight the importance of tailoring feed solutions to specific production conditions rather than relying on universal approaches.
